We champion the advancement of African women.

About The Founder

Hello! I’m Victoria A. Ajayi, the visionary behind Women Inclusive Boardroom Africa (WIBA).

My journey began over 18 years ago, navigating the realms of banking, affordable housing, consulting, construction, and media.

As a certified chartered accountant and business executive, I’ve led teams and managed operations across diverse industries, both locally and internationally.

My path to the boardroom was paved with insights from various sectors, enriching my governance and strategic leadership skills.

Currently, I contribute to the global finance and investment landscape as a board member of a pioneering Gender Finance and Impact Investment Fintech, and actively engage in the governance of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) on its global council.

Driven by a passion for elevating women in leadership, I founded the Accounting Women’s Network, fostering an environment where women are encouraged and equipped to ascend to strategic positions.

My dedication to mentorship and women’s empowerment has earned me global recognition, including being named one of the Top 50 Women in Accounting and one of the Top 100 Career Women in Nigeria.

With degrees from Oxford Brookes University and Liverpool John Moores University, and executive education from esteemed institutions like Cambridge Judge Business School and Harvard Business School, my commitment to lifelong learning is unwavering.

As a proud member of the Institute of Directors and The Society for Corporate Governance in Nigeria, I stand at the forefront of promoting gender diversity and inclusivity in corporate governance.

At WIBA, we are dedicated to creating a future where women hold equal representation and influence in Africa’s boardrooms.

I invite you to join us on this transformative journey, advancing gender diversity and empowering women leaders across the continent.

Who Are We?

At Women Inclusive Boardroom Africa (WIBA), we are pioneering change, championing diversity, and fostering inclusivity in the African corporate landscape.

Founded on the belief that women’s representation in decision-making positions is not just a matter of fairness but also a catalyst for innovative and sustainable growth, WIBA is dedicated to breaking the glass ceilings that have historically limited women’s potential in the boardroom with our Board Apprenticeship  Program..

Our journey began from a place of passion and a clear vision to address the stark underrepresentation of women in leadership roles within Africa.

Our Board Apprenticeship program offers:

Matching with mentors:

Pairing participants with experienced board members who serve as mentors and guides throughout the apprenticeship program.

Board immersion

Enabling participants to attend board meetings, observe governance practices, and participate in discussions under the guidance of their mentors.

Project assignments

Assigning participants to work on board related projects or committees to gain practical experience and exposure to boardroom dynamics.

Feedback and evaluation

Providing regular feedback and evaluations to participants to assess their progress, strengths, and areas for development during the apprenticeship period.

Recognizing the untapped talent and perspectives that women bring to the table, we set out to empower, educate, and elevate women to positions of influence and power across industries.

WIBA’s mission extends beyond advocacy; we are actively involved in creating pathways for women to ascend to leadership roles through mentorship programs, leadership training, and strategic partnerships with both public and private sectors.

Our holistic approach is designed to not only place women in boardrooms but to ensure they thrive and drive transformative change.

We envision a future where gender diversity in the boardroom is not an aspiration but a norm. A future where the decisions that shape our societies and economies are made by diverse groups of people, reflective of the communities they serve.

Through our unwavering commitment to this cause, WIBA is not just advocating for change; we are laying the groundwork for a more inclusive, equitable, and prosperous Africa.

Join us in our movement to redefine leadership and create a legacy of empowerment for generations of women to come.
